What it covers

• Crop insurance is designed to protect farmers from damage to their crops. These include irrigated crops, rain fed crops and horticultural produce. Crops are covered against fire, lightning, floods, strong winds, hail, and uncontrollable pests and diseases
• Feedlots insurance covers livestock kept in a feedlot against fire, lightning, accidental death and bodily injuries, and illness. You can also add special extensions to cover against explosion, accidental bloating, and poisoning by plants (feeding, giving water or dipping up to a maximum of 75% of the sum insured)
• Herd select covers the whole herd against all mortality risks (death occurring from diseases or injuries and accidents) and theft
• Herd essential covers specific animals within your herd against death from fire or lightning, theft, and accidents including inhumane slaughter
• Stud select covers stud animals strictly kept for breeding purposes against theft, all mortality risks, impotence following accidental injury and gap cover following a government slaughter order
